AZERI DEPUTY FM VISITS PRAGUE
Azerbaijan`s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Araz Azimov visited Prague to partake in Azerbaijan-Czechia bilateral consultations.
The first stage of the consultations saw Azimov meet with several officials of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Deputy Minister Thomas Pojar, Political Director Martin Povejsil, director general of the European countries section Petr Burianek, manager of the North and East Europe Department Daniel Kostoval, Deputy Head of North and East European Department Martina Tauberova, and employee at the North and East European Department Radek Matula.
Issues the meeting circled around included: bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Czechia; Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh; mutual meetings of high ranking officials; the Czech Foreign Minister`s trip to Azerbaijan; Azerbaijan`s cooperation with the European Union and NATO; energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Czechia; situation in the Caucasus; and cooperation within the GUAM-Visegrad and Azerbaijan- Visegrad groups.
As part of the second stage of the consultations, Azimov met with the Czech coordinator of Visegrad group and employees of embassies of the group`s member states in Prague to discuss prospects for cooperation between GUAM-Visegrad and Azerbaijan-Visegrad groups.
Azerbaijan`s Deputy Foreign Minister also met with head of the Chamber of Deputies’ International Committee Jan Hamacek, and they exchanged views on mutual interparliamentary relations, as well as construction of a radar station in Czechia by the United States of America.
