INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON RESOLUTION OF CONFLICTS IN GUAM COUNTRIES HIGHLIGHTES TWO INTERNATIONAL PRINCIPLES
The international conference on “the principal basis of conflict resolution in GUAM countries” held in Baku defined approaches towards relations between the two principles of international law - the right of nations to self determination and territorial integrity.
GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili noted “GUAM considers that the principle of territorial integrity of countries is inviolable, and it creates broad opportunities to fulfill the right of nations to self determination within recognized countries”.
Mr. Chechelashvili said the Baku Declaration adopted in the conference aims to ensure peace and stability in Black Sea and Caspian Sea regions.
According to him, the conference fruitfully discussed peaceful resolution of conflicts.
