In preparation for the upcoming snap presidential election, 49 polling stations have been established across 37 countries to ensure the voting rights of Azerbaijani citizens residing abroad or on long-term foreign assignments. This election marks the first to be held in the Republic of Azerbaijan after the restoration of its territorial integrity and state sovereignty.

In anticipation of the presidential election scheduled for February 7, the voting process at the polling stations abroad will commence first at the polling station set up in the embassy of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Korea.

In accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Election Code, and other relevant legislative acts, the Azerbaijani embassy in Seoul is actively engaged in ensuring the voting rights of Azerbaijani citizens residing in South Korea.

In compliance with the Election Code, a polling station has been established at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in South Korea, with members, secretaries and a chairman elected.

To facilitate the voting rights of Azerbaijani citizens aged 18 and above, residing permanently in South Korea or on long-term foreign assignments, the embassy has registered them. Voters lists have been prepared and submitted to the Central Election Commission.

Azerbaijani citizens registered at the consulate have been informed about their participation in the voting process, with informative posts disseminated on the embassy's official website and social media accounts. Furthermore, Ambassador Ramin Hasanov has met with Azerbaijani students studying in South Korea, encouraging active participation in the voting.

As per legislation, voting for the presidential election will start at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 7:00 p.m. local time in each country`s time zone.

Voting at the diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan, where polling stations have been established, will commence initially at the embassy of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Korea and conclude at the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles.
