UN SECRETARY GENERAL MADE STATEMENT ON THE OCCASION OF THE WORLD DAY OF REFUGEES
Further, it is stated that within last 50 years the High Commissioner of the United Nations on affairs of refugees has assisted more than 50 million people which have abandoned the native homes as a result of conflicts and wishing to find to itself dwelling. Nevertheless, the overwhelming majority of 17 million of people who is taking place now under protection of the given structure lives with dream of returning to native places. Only the last year 1,1 million refugees have come back to their homelands.
The Statement of the Secretary General of the United Nations ends with the following words: “Much to our regret, there are refugees who never can return to native houses. The only way for them is the settlement in the country where they for the first time have found asylum, and in case of impossibility, they could begin the life in the third state. In the given process, it is impossible to forget about humanism of the countries given shelter to the refugees. In the World Day of Refugees, we call on all countries for humanism in relation to refugees”.
