NISA SUMMER SESSION ON CRISIS MANAGEMENT KICKS OFF IN BAKU
Within the framework of the NATO Week in Azerbaijan, the summer session of the NATO International Summer School (NISA) on Crisis Management started Monday at the Ramada Hotel in Baku.
Diego Ruiz-Palmer, Head of the Planning Section, Operations Division, NATO HQ, said at the session that Azerbaijan is the important country contributing to the international security.
Turkish ambassador in Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic stressed the need to combine for ensuring security and fighting terrorism, adding the security conception must be adopted.
Ambassador noted Turkey supports the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and international law.
The session is poised to discuss different approaches to crises, management of crises, role of international organizations in crisis management operations and other issues.
Over 15 experts from NATO member and partner countries will deliver lectures at the event. Attending the lectures will be some 70 young specialists from USA, Belgium, Poland, Italy, Argentine, Turkey and other countries, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani ministries.
The NATO Week has been co-hosted by the Azerbaijan`s Foreign Ministry and NATO Public Diplomacy Division for the past five years. The aim is to promote dialogue and cooperation among the youth and engage them into security debates in the Euro-Atlantic community.
