PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV GREETS PARTICIPANTS OF 21ST MEETING OF COUNCIL OF HEADS OF CIS MEMBER-STATES SECURITY BODIES AND SPECIAL SERVICES
The message says, in particular, reads:
“I would like to express confidence that this meeting of the Council of Heads of the CIS Member-States’ Security Bodies and Special Services will make a substantial contribution to development of reliable and effective national security system in our countries, and to strengthening their cooperation in combating all manifestations of the international terrorism and organized crime.”
“Having faced the negative consequences of the globalizing terrorism and widening network of organized crime using up-to-date technologies for their purposes, the international community have fully realized the existing danger, interdependence between national and international security, and the need for protection of democratic values from real and potential threats.”
“Azerbaijan was repeatedly subjected to attacks by terrorist, and we experienced the horrible consequences of terrorist acts taken lives of thousands of our citizens. There are numerous facts testifying that the uncontrolled territories formed in CIS countries as a result of aggressive separatists’ activities, are the place of concentration of dangerous criminals and international terrorists. They are engaged in arms, human and drug trafficking, money laundering and other illegal activities whose revenue are spent on funding terrorism. The policy of ethnic cleansing they carry out, has grown in the policy of “scorched earth”.”
“In relation to fight against terrorism and transnational organized crime, Azerbaijan has always occupied and continues to occupy the position of principle, and provide overall assistance to its partners in the international anti-terror coalition. We realize very well that success in the fight against terrorism and other menaces to regional and global security can be achieved only as a result of exerting joint efforts by all states and relevant international organizations.”
“Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the work of the Council of Heads of the CIS Member-States’ Security Bodies and Special Services, highly values its accomplishments, and expresses confidence in good prospects of further cooperation.”
