“CASPIAN STATES GETTING READY FOR BAKU MEETING”, RUSSIAN DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER
Baku, September 23 (AZERTAC). Russia is interested in rapid solution of all matters related to the legal status of the Caspian Sea, taking into account the interest of all Caspian littoral states, Russian Deputy Foreign minister Grigory Karasin said at Russian Caspian ambassadors’ meeting in Astrakhan.
According to Karasin, during twelve years Caspian littorals are debating the status of the Caspian in a very complicated manner. “Russia does its best so that the legal status of the Caspian would meet the interest of all littoral states, and will insist on that. The key principle is that all five littoral states take part in Caspian status negotiation process with sine qua non respecting the interest of all Caspian littorals and the whole region”, Russian Deputy Foreign minister said.
Also Karasin backed up the development of interaction in the field of economy, investments, culture, human relations, and security.
“At the turn of October Baku will host a meeting of all five Caspian littorals. Getting ready for this meeting, we do expect it to find new forms of interaction”, Karasin said.
