Preparations for 14th Turksoy Opera Days underway
Baku, June 18 (AZERTAC). The 14th opera days which are one of the biggest projects of the International Organization of Turkic Culture TÜRKSOY organized under its patronage will take place on June,22nd- (24th-25th)-28th, 2011 in Mersin, Kyrenia and Istanbul.
The first phase of the event will take place at the Cultural Centre of Mersin with the Orchestra of the State Opera and Ballet of Mersin while the second will be realized on June 24th-25th, 2011 with two different programs in the Citadel of Kyrenia in the TRNC, and the third will be realized on June 28th, 2011 at the Süreyya Opera of the municipality of Kadıköy in Istanbul.
After an interruption of 5 years in 2003, the TURKSOY Opera days which started to take place in 1994 and have been realized ten times since then took the scene again in 2008.
This year, the 14th Opera Days organized with the contribution of the Metropolitan Municipality of Mersin, The General Directorate of the State Opera and Ballet of Mersin of the General Directorate of Opera and Ballet of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey and of the Ministry of Culture and Environment of the TRNC and the Municipality of Kadıköy in Istanbul, which attracted much interest by the written and visual press media, will be featuring the performance of 13 artists from 10 countries, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, the TRNC, Tatarstan Hakassia, Bashkortostan, Crimea and the Gagauz` place, under the Kazakh conductor Nurzhan Baibussinov.
