U.S. Chargé d’Affaires visits “ABAD” Factory in Guba
Baku, January 29, AZERTAC
As part of her visit to Azerbaijan’s Guba district, Amy Carlon, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, has familiarized herself with the activities of the “ABAD Factory” Production Complex.
The diplomat was briefed on the activities of the “ABAD” public legal entity, established by a decree of President Ilham Aliyev. It was noted that the organization focuses on supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, developing family farms, promoting local production, and increasing employment in the regions.
The Chargé d’Affaires was informed that the building housing the complex was originally constructed in 1956 as a "House of Culture." After falling into disrepair over decades of use, the facility was completely renovated in 2018 with the support of PASHA Holding. Today, it stands as a modern production complex equipped with advanced technology.
The visit highlighted ABAD’s comprehensive support services for family businesses, which include production, packaging, branding, marketing, legal assistance, accounting, and sales, all aimed at expanding the market reach of national products.
During the tour, Amy Carlon observed the production process, tasted local food products, and emphasized the significance of the “ABAD” model in supporting family farms and local industrial growth.
