AZERBAIJAN, BULGARIA SIGN INTERGOVERNMENTAL DOCUMENTS
Azerbaijan`s Prime Minister Artur Rasizade and Bulgarian Premier Sergey Stanishev signed intergovernmental documents in Baku on Monday.
The documents signed included: an agreement on economic cooperation, an agreement on antimonopoly policy and protection of competitiveness, and a Convention on elimination of double taxation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rasizade said he believes the visit of his Bulgarian counterpart and the documents signed will give boost to the development of the two countries` relations.
The Azeri premier expressed satisfaction with the level of political ties between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.
Artur Rasizade said, however, the two countries` economic relations are poor, and stressed the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria intergovernmental commission must intensify its work.
He spoke of regional energy and transport projects that Azerbaijan is the participant in and the initiator of.
Rasizade said the Azeri government is making every effort to find a peaceful solution with Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Bulgarian Premier Stanishev said trade between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan is 10 million dollars, but it does not correspond with their growing economic potential.
Azerbaijan and Bulgaria agreed to hold the next sitting of the intergovernmental economic commission and a joint business forum in Sofia next summer.
