Azerbaijan’s Victory Day celebrated in Kingdom of the Netherlands
The Hague, November 10, AZERTAC
In celebration of Azerbaijan's Victory Day, the Hague, the Netherlands' political and administrative heart, hosted a festive evening, which included a special concert program "My Azerbaijan: Rhythms of the Land of Fire."
The event was held at the prestigious Het Nationale Theater, co-organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy, the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, and the Azerbaijan-Netherlands “Land of Fire” Community foundations.
According to the Embassy of Azerbaijan, the event brought together Dutch public officials, diplomatic corps accredited in the country, reps of political, public, and media circles, business, cultural, and academic communities, members of the local Azerbaijani community, as well as media representatives.
The concert began with a moving tribute: the screening of Kenan Bayramov's "Bayati-Shiraz" mugham performance from the 2021 "Kharibulbul" music festival held on the Jidir Duzu plain in Shusha. This magnificent musical piece, set against the backdrop of Shusha's charming landscapes and unforgettable festival moments, evoked profound emotion in the audience.
Addressing the event, Mammad Ahmadzada, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Netherlands, emphasized the symbolic significance of the scene, noting that for years during the occupation, the "Bayati-Shiraz" mugham had symbolized the pain and longing of the Azerbaijani people to return home. He underlined that this longing has now been fulfilled, historical justice restored, and the occupation left behind. Recalling President Ilham Aliyev's words—“Dear Shusha, you are liberated! Dear Shusha, we are back! Dear Shusha, we will revive you! Shusha is ours! Karabakh is Azerbaijan!”—the diplomat stressed that these statements are now proudly cemented in the nation's history, confirming that Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty have been fully restored, bringing peace and stability to the region.
The event continued with the main concert program, which showcased the enthusiasm and energy of Azerbaijani music and dance.
The Azerbaijani “Ritm” dance group captivated the audience with traditional dances such as “Gaytaghi,” “Sari Gelin,” (Yellow Bride) “Vaghzali,” “Chay,” “Igidlar,” “Innabi,” “Naghara,” “Uzundere,” “Fantaziya,” and “Yalli.” The performance featured both Azerbaijani performers based in the Netherlands and musicians who traveled from Azerbaijan.
The audience met the concert’s unforgettable moments with great interest and sustained applause. The profound enthusiasm and national spirit that filled The Hague National Theater throughout the evening powerfully underscored the global significance of Azerbaijan's Victory.
