President meets with heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Kazakhstan
Baku, February 6 (AZERTAC). At the meeting, President Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized that the country strengthens friendly relations and effective cooperation with all countries represented by the diplomatic officials present at the event, the press service of Akorda reports.
“One third of the structure of diplomatic missions accredited in Kazakhstan was renewed last year. I congratulate new ambassadors on their appointment. I am confident that you and your colleagues working in Astana for a long time will make a contribution to development of cooperation between our countries. For our part, we are ready to create necessary conditions for your work here. I thank you for your considerable and fruitful work in Kazakhstan,” the President said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the new Concept of Foreign Policy of Kazakhstan till 2020 was adopted in accordance with the long-term tasks of the 2050 Strategy.
In this regard, the President believes it is necessary to take into account a number of significant international aspects.
“The cyclic character of the global economy should be kept in mind. Slowdowns always follow periods of growth. Therefore, the world and Kazakhstan should be ready for any changes in the economy and in international policy accordingly. The importance of ensuring security increases during the period of growth,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
The President emphasized that our country welcomes the starts of Geneva - 2 talks on Syria and hopes for their successful completion. As the President noted, Kazakhstan participates in settlement of another international issue - Iranian nuclear program. Thus, two rounds of multilateral talks on this issue were held in Almaty.
The Head of State also recalled that our country officially bids for a UNSC non-permanent seat for 2017-2018. In this regard, Nursultan Nazarbayev asked the governments of represented countries to support Kazakhstan`s bid.
In summary, the President of Kazakhstan said that diplomacy has always been and remains a supremely patriotic art.
