Azeri pupil awarded diploma in 16th International Children`s Art Work Competition
Baku, June 5 (AZERTAC). A pupil from Azerbaijan`s Lahij village has been awarded with a diploma in 16th International Children`s Art Work Competition.
The competition was organized by the Slovenian World of Art magazine and Gallery of Young People`s Art Works from Celje, Slovenia.
The Azerbaijani pupil was awarded with diploma among 8000 children`s art works from 38 countries. This was the first time that Azerbaijani children participated in this exhibition.
The drawing of Babazade Aysen from Lahij was the first Azerbaijani drawing in this big collection of children`s art works. The work, awarded with the diploma, was one of the drawings from the project “Yesterday-Today-Tomorrow” run in Azerbaijan in 2010 by free lance artist Vesna Crnivec, Slovenia and project coordinator Billura Bayramova, Azerbaijan.
The project “Yesterday-Today-Tomorrow” was supported by the Slovenian ministries of Culture, Foreign Affairs, Embassy of Azerbaijan in Slovenia, Embassy of Slovenia in Turkey, Consulate of Slovenia in Azerbaijan and Lahij secondary school.
The award ceremony was divided in two parts: for participants from Europe in Celje, where the patron of the event was President of Slovenia Danilo Türk and for participants from other continents in Trabzon, where youngsters from Azerbaijan, India, Russia, Iran, Indonesia, China and other countries met.
International Children`s Art Work exhibition is good example for common projects among European and non-European countries, which opens great opportunities for future cooperation in the spheres of culture, art and education.
