Analgesics Drugs Increase Risk of Cancer
Baku, May 20 (azerTAc). Muscle pain reliever for fever commonly consumed as a fever or when a cold. Be careful, because the use of pain medication on a regular basis increases the risk of blood cancer.
According to the researchers, the chemical content of acetaminophen in febrifuge associated with several types of cancer. Similar research on the drug type of aspirin found that these drugs reduce death from colon cancer but increased the risk of bleeding and sores. However, this does not explain the relation with blood, or cancer.
This finding adds evidence associated with cancer and these painkillers. The researchers examined nearly 65 thousand parents and women in Washington. At this early stage, they were asked relating to use of pain relievers during the past 10 years and make sure they do not have cancer.
Lapse of six years, there are cancer cells in the blood of 577 people. These include cancer of white blood cancer and myelodysplastic syndrome or syndrome preleukimia. More than 9 percent of respondents who have cancer are the consumers of analgesics in a high level.
The study also takes into account age, arthritis, and history of blood cancer in the family. Users analgesics have a risk two-fold higher than those who do not eat them.
But the results of the study received the rejection from other experts. Dr. Raymond DuBois, and MD Anderson. Cancer prevention expert at the University of Texas and the Cancer Center in Houston, said that the pain reliever to work very differently than other painkillers that have different effects on cancer.
“It is surprising that the use of relievers increase the risk of blood cancer,” said DuBois.
White said that the long-term use of each medication must have a certain risk. Therefore, he always recommends consumers to know the side effects of each drug.
White added that the study is still in its early stages so there is no strong evidence of acetaminophen and aspirin can cause cancer.
Previous studies have linked acetaminophen with asthma and eczema. But scientists still do not agree whether the drug was the cause of truth, or there are other factors.
