Belarus, Azerbaijan to develop judicial cooperation

Baku, December 23 (AZERTAC). Belarus and Azerbaijan are determined to develop judicial cooperation, Deputy Justice Minister of Belarus Alla Bodak said as she met with her Azerbaijani counterpart Togrul Musayev.
According to Togrul Musayev, Azerbaijan pays much attention to judicial cooperation with other countries, including with Belarus. Cooperation agreements signed between the Justice Ministries of the two countries in 1999 and 2012 during the visits of the President of Azerbaijan to Belarus made a considerable contribution to the expansion of mutual relations.
Togrul Musayev informed on reforms in the judicial system of Azerbaijan, including the recent expansion of the ministry’s authorities, maintenance of various registers, legislative improvements, the activity of the administrative justice, the notariate institute, the Academy of Justice, development of the penal system, infrastructure modernization, and introduction of electronic systems.
In turn, Alla Bodak took note of the similarity in the legal systems of the two countries and told her counterpart about judicial and legal reforms in Belarus. In her words, the exchange of experience and opinions is of great significance for both sides.
The Deputy Justice Minister of Belarus also met with Justice Minister, Chairman of the Judicial and Legal Council Fikret Mamedov. Praising friendship and efficient cooperation between the two countries, the Minister stressed that the countries have been steadily developing legal relations. The Minister also expressed confidence that there were big prospects for further strengthening and deepening of mutual activity. Alla Bodak expressed interest in further expansion of cooperation between the Justice Ministries of the two countries.
Alla Bodak also viewed the Justice History Museum of Azerbaijan.
