Exhibition on Azerbaijan`s ancient town of Agsu opens in Turkey
Baku, February 16 (AZERTAC). An exhibition “Agsu miracle” opened in the Ataturk Cultural Center of the Turkish Mugla University on Wednesday.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition co-organized by Turkish Mugla University, Culture and Solidarity Association "Mugla - Azerbaijan" and “Miras” Cultural and Heritage Study Support Public Union was attended by organizations’ officials and representatives of local authorities.
Addressing the event, chairman of the PU, PhD Fariz Khalilli updated participants on the exhibition and archeological researches carried out in the town of Agsu.
He highlighted the Joint Project of Agsu Archaeological Expedition of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography and the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan and “Miras” Cultural and Heritage Study Support Public Union.
The exhibition demonstrated 90 photo panels reflecting Agsu Archaeological Expedition`s materials by photographer Mammad Rahimov, 12 drawings by Jahangir Ahmadov, who participated closely in conservation of medieval Agsu and three plastic models by Vugar Guliyev.
Fariz Khalilli delivered a report on Azerbaijan`s material culture and Agsu Miracle. He provided information on material and intangible heritage of Azerbaijan, research work in medieval Agsu and the 4th International Eurasian Archaeology Conference to be held on October 1-5 this year.
The exhibition also featured presentation of a documentary “Azerbaijan is the country of monuments” made with the financial support of the Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
