JANUARY 20 COMMITMENT WAS ROUGH INFRINGEMENT OF PRINCIPLES OF INTERNATIONAL LAW
Experts of the Institute have carried out researches and have established the infringement admitted 14 years ago. So, the former Soviet state, first of all, has roughly broken the Articles 1,55 and 1,56 of Charter of the United Nations, the Universal Declaration on Human Rights (1948), the International Pact of the Civil and Political rights (1966) participant of which it is. The Article 6 of last document says: “The right for life is an inalienable right of each person”, while Article 7 runs: “Nobody should be exposed to tortures, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment ”. According to Article 9 of this Pact, each person has the right to freedom and inviolability of person. Secret concealment for a long time of a person, illegally deprived of freedom, the reference contradicting to the law with them is contrary to the Article 10 of the Pact, and restriction during long time of free moving the population inside the country - with the Article 12.
The January 20 commitment roughly breaks the Articles of the Convention for prevention of torture and inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment (1984), Conventions on the rights of children (1989).
