Russia and Pakistan sign 8 agreements for cooperation

The Russian Federation and Pakistan Wednesday inked 8 agreements for Cooperation In different fields in Moscow. The signed agreements are aimed at strengthening trade and economic cooperation besides promoting academic and technological exchanges between the two countries.
The agreements were finalized and signed during a ceremony held in the Russian Capital, where the 9th Inter Governmental Commission (IGC) meeting was held. Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Energy Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari led the Pakistani delegation during the talks, which underscored the growing cooperation between Pakistan and Russia.
The agreements encompass a range of initiatives, including industrial cooperation and the production of insulin. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between New Tech, a Pakistani entity, and a Russian university to promote academic and technological exchange.
The agreements have been signed to enhance industrial cooperation, promote bilateral trade and economic cooperation, manufacturing insulin and cooperation between NAVTTC and a Russian University. Pakistan’s COMSATS University and Peshawar University also signed agreements with Russian educational institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Energy said that Pakistan and Russian cooperation is progressing steadily and these agreements will further deepen our collaboration in various sectors. It is worth mentioning that Mr. Leghari is leading the Pakistani delegation during the 9th Inter-Governmental Commission meeting between Pakistan and Russia.
On the other hand, direct air service between Russia and Pakistan are on cards. After the meeting of the Inter-Governmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation of Russia and Pakistan, the Russian Deputy Minister of Transport Sergey Zverev while talking to reporters said that Russia and Pakistan can establish direct air service between Moscow and Islamabad shortly. He said that we discussed the issue of air connectivity and want to set flights to Islamabad in the near future.
