Baku to host 3rd IAESTE Forum
Baku, March 30 (AZERTAC). The 3rd International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) Forum will take place this year in Baku on November 16-20, Head of the Azerbaijan Students Union (ASU) Elvin Aslanov told press conference at Trend News Company. The decision was adopted during the 64th Annual Conference of IAESTE in Bangkok. ASU was accepted an associative member of IAESTE at that Conference, Elvin Aslanov emphasized. For the first time ASU delegates were participants of the First Asia IAESTE Forum in Shanghai during 12-15 November, 2009. After that forum ASU established close relations with IAESTE which is one of the biggest student exchange organizations.
Currently IAESTE delegates led by the Secretary General of IAESTE Goran Radnović and Head of IAESTE Asia Dr. Pulat Pulatov are visiting Baku to discuss several issues related to the organization of IAESTE Forum in Baku.
The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience commonly referred to as IAESTE is an international organization exchanging students for technical work experience abroad. Students gain relevant technical training lasting from 4 weeks to 18 months. IAESTE includes committees representing more than 80 countries, with the potential of accepting new countries into the organization every year.
IAESTE`s motto is “Students, technology & cultural understanding”. The aims of this organization are to connect students with employers in foreign countries, provide university students with technical experience, and culturally enrich students and their host communities.
IAESTE was founded in 1948 at Imperial College, London.
