Minister: MoU between Somalia and Azerbaijan will boost bilateral ties

“Somalia has significant renewable energy resources. Our participation in the Baku Energy Forum today also strengthens our role in global initiatives,” said Abdullahi Bidhaan, Somalia’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources, at the Baku Energy Forum in Baku.
He noted that Somalia has already built solar power plants and plans to further expand its renewable energy capacity. “We want to see more investment in this sector. Somalia has vast potential—sunshine for 360 days a year. Solar energy can fully meet our energy demand,” the minister emphasized.
Minister Abdullahi Bidhaan also highlighted the importance of the newly signed Memorandum of Understanding between Somalia and Azerbaijan. The agreement with Azerbaijan will boost effective cooperation and support the growth of bilateral relations in various fields.
