Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister meets with Speaker of Georgian Parliament

On July 22, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, as part of his official visit to the country.
The meeting focused on the current state and future prospects of the friendly and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the steady development of bilateral relations built on mutual respect and trust, including robust interparliamentary cooperation.
The importance of parliamentary diplomacy was emphasized, particularly reciprocal visits by parliamentary speakers and members, as well as the active collaboration between parliamentary friendship groups — regarded as a key pillar of the strategic partnership.
The sides lauded the continued successful cooperation in political, economic, energy, trade, transport, communications, and humanitarian spheres. Particular emphasis was placed on joint initiatives and upcoming projects along the Middle Corridor, highlighting their strategic and economic significance for the region.
They also underscored the importance of bilateral and multilateral cooperation frameworks in bolstering regional stability and promoting mutually beneficial integration.
Minister Bayramov briefed Speaker Papuashvili on the regional situation, including challenges faced by Azerbaijan in the post-conflict period, ongoing large-scale restoration and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories, and the current state of the normalization and peace process with Armenia.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
