Israeli Tech that converts air into water helps villages in Colombia
Baku, October 24, AZERTAC
The residents of El Talento, a small town located in Colombia and adjacent to the city of Cúcuta, have recently been introduced to Israeli technology that converts air into water, bringing respite to a significant problem that the village was contending with, according to TPS news agency.
Watergen, an Israel-based company, deployed a generator in the Cúcuta area at the beginning of October at the request of Andrés Suárez, Pastor of the Christian Center and general manager of the alliance project with the State of Israel in Colombia.
Suárez said he was driven by a desire to show the residents in northern Colombia that Watergen’s innovative technology can provide some of the neediest communities in the region with clean, safe drinking water.
Watergen’s GEN-M, the model deployed at El Talento, can produce up to 800 liters of water a day. With a weight of 780 kilograms, the machine is transportable and designed to help isolated communities that do not have adequate access to clean water. El Talento does not have streaming drinking water.
After passing through Cúcuta, the water generator will be transported to La Guajira, a territory located in the northeastern part of the country, where it will stay for three months to benefit the communities of that region.
“We seek to harness Israeli technology in water, agriculture, livestock, communications and other industries, all of which could be adapted to the needs of our region,” Suárez said.
Several humanitarian organizations have shown interest in Watergen’s solution to help other communities that lack access to clean water.
Watergen’s machine collects humidity from the air and heats it to create water by cooling the air and creating dew. The liquid is then filtered and purified with carbon.
