Sudan reaffirms solidarity with Azerbaijan over drone attack targeting Nakhchivan
Baku, March 21, AZERTAC
President of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has strongly condemned the attacks targeting a number of brotherly countries, reaffirming Sudan’s full solidarity with the affected states, including the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In an address to the Sudanese people on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Al-Burhan denounced the assaults affecting several countries in the Gulf, as well as Lebanon, Palestine, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan, stressing that Sudan stands firmly alongside these nations in confronting threats to their security and stability.
The head of state further reaffirmed Sudan’s principled position in support of respect for the sovereignty of states, non-interference in their internal affairs, and the rejection of all forms of aggression that undermine regional security and stability.
It is worth noting that Al-Burhan had earlier sent a message of solidarity to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, expressing Sudan’s support following the attack targeting the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
In the same context, Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Muhi Al-Din Salem Ahmed, held a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov, during which he reiterated Sudan’s condemnation of the targeting of Azerbaijani territory and conveyed Sudan’s solidarity with the government and people of Azerbaijan.
