U.S. keen on boosting healthcare and medical science cooperation with Azerbaijan

Teymur Musayev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Health, met with Amy Carlon, Acting U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Azerbaijan.
Minister of Health Teymur Musayev stated that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the governments of Azerbaijan and the United States in Washington laid the foundation for a new strategic stage of bilateral partnership.
He noted that attention and care for the families of martyrs and war veterans in Azerbaijan is one of the main priorities of state policy. Emphasizing the importance of digitalization of the healthcare system, Teymur Musayev highlighted the significance of establishing cooperation between the two countries in this area. Additionally, the Azerbaijani Health Minister underscored the importance of exchanging experience in medical education, advanced training of physicians, and healthcare management.
Musayev emphasized that work is underway to establish medical institutions in the liberated territories.
The Health Minister expressed confidence for the further development of bilateral cooperation.
Amy Carlon particularly emphasized the significance of President Ilham Aliyev’s historic visit and the MoU signed between the governments of Azerbaijan and the United States during the visit.
Highly appreciating the attention and care shown by the Azerbaijani state to the families of martyrs and war veterans, Amy Carlton noted that the United States would not withhold its support in this regard.
The diplomat also stated that her country is interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in healthcare and medical science.
The meeting also addressed other issues of mutual interest.
