Azerbaijani female mountaineer presents her Everest and Lhotse certificates

Azerbaijan achieved a significant mountaineering milestone on International Mountain Day. Mountaineer Vafa Musayeva (Gahraman) officially presented her certificates for climbing Everest (8,848 meters) and Lhotse (8,516 meters) for the first time in the country.
Vafa Musayeva made history by summiting Everest and Lhotse consecutively in one expedition, a rare feat for any climber, especially a woman, fulfilling her goal to inspire Azerbaijan by becoming the first female Azerbaijani citizen to conquer Everest and then Lhotse within days. Her achievements, celebrated in Azerbaijan, highlight her determination and place her among elite mountaineers, sharing her success with her nation.
Musayeva's mountaineering activities began with local peaks - Bazarduzu, Shahdag, Tufandag and other mountains.
Junko Tabei from Japan was the first woman to summit Mount Everest in 1976, making history and inspiring many women in mountaineering.
