Azerbaijani violinist to perform in Europe
Baku, February 6 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani violinist Nazrin Rashidova will give a series of concerts in France and UK.
The concerts will comprise a performance by young Azerbaijani violinist Nazrin Rashidova and the all-female FeMusa String Ensemble.
The musician will perform at Église St-Roch church in Paris on February 24 and at St. John's, Smith Square in London on February 26.
Violin phenomenon Nazrin Rashidova and renowned guitar virtuoso Stanislav Hvartchilkov mark the UK launch of Dreams, their debut duet album. This is a unique and exciting collaboration that showcases a flamboyant collection of 20th century Azerbaijani song classics.
This album fuses popular and classical, oriental and western themes and approaches in new arrangements that demonstrate the virtuosity and lyricism of both instruments in a duet setting.
The launch is supported by The European Azerbaijan Society.
The Khojaly commemoration concerts will be also organized by the European Azerbaijan Society.
Soloist, recitalist, chamber musician and orchestral director, Nazrin's musical acumen is creating a unique place for her in the music world.
Recently marking her Wigmore Hall debut in London to critical acclaim, the BP-sponsored, Azerbaijani-British violin virtuoso made her solo debut at the age of three in one of the most prestigious palaces in Baku.
Nazrin’s established FeMusa Orchestra has collaborated with renowned flautist, Ines Abdel-Daim and British mezzo-soprano, Louise Winter. They also revived Azerbaijani composer, Fikret Amirov’s ‘Nizami’ Symphony in St. John’s Smith Square in London in 2010, which was last performed in England in the 1960 ’ s, under the baton of Leopold Stokowski. In October of 2012, FeMusa was invited to perform on Omani Women's Day at the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman. They performed Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires with the renowned flautist, Ines Abdel Daim. In June 2013, they were invited by the Anglo-Azeri Society to perform at the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall in Baku.
