Cambodian official: Building common interests will contribute to developing parliamentary diplomacy

Baku, February 19, AZERTAC
“Strengthening of parliamentary politics stands as an important factor amid global uncertainties. Building common interests between countries will foster the development of parliamentary diplomacy based on principles of peace and partnership,” said Chanphal Ngy, Chairman of the Commission of Human Rights, Complaint Reception and Investigation of the Senate of Cambodia, during the 15th plenary session of the APA in Baku.
Touching upon the growing concerns about international security in the modern era, he emphasized that the transition to a multipolar world order requires renewed commitments to dialogue, mutual respect, and building trust. “Preserving the culture of dialogue is crucial in developing parliamentary diplomacy and humanitarian policy," he underlined.
Highlighting Cambodia’s path to prosperity, Chanphal Ngy noted that his country targets to achieve upper middle-income status by 2030 and high-income status by 2050. He also highlighted Cambodia's accomplishments in democracy and sustainable development, noting that this process can be a source of inspiration for other countries.
