GERMAN FOREIGN MINISTER TO VISIT BAKU
Noting that until late current year, Germany and Azerbaijan are to sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of security, Clause Grewlich emphasized that the said document would not contradict cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO, on the contrary, would serve much more intensive development of these ties. The Ambassador underlined that the envisioned issues would cover development of links of the border services in the field of safety, raise the level of education of police personnel.
Clause Grewlich noted that he also represents in Azerbaijan the interests of European Union and the forthcoming mid-May visit of President Ilham Aliyev in Brussels would be of great significance from the standpoint of development of relations with the European Union.
Ambassador Grewlich also informed that in mid May in Baku to conduct negotiations would come representatives of the German Government. At his words, a group of business executives, German industrialists, also would come to Baku to study investment feasibilities. At the opinion of the diplomat, all this evidence to growth of interest of his country to Azerbaijan. Mr. Grewlich also stressed that the Europeans have something to learn from Azerbaijan. President Heydar Aliyev laid foundation of right foreign policy that is continued today. The relations with the West, Russia and Iran are high level. According to the Ambassador, conducting such wise policy can be example for many countries.
