Lithuania to build LNG terminal by 2014
Baku, April 17 (AZERTAC). Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius visited Klaipedos Nafta where he stressed that the Government`s goal was to build the liquefied natural gas terminal as soon as possible and guarantee alternative gas supplies. The prime minister believes that the terminal will be built by 2014, taking into account the present pace of works.
The head of Government noted that linking the terminal to the gas network would not be any easier than building the terminal itself, but the project outcome would depend largely on workers that deserved praise, informed LETA/ELTA.
"I am delighted to see a vibrant, young team. I welcome the work that has already been started. I can see that the LNG terminal project is in good hands," Kubilius said.
The management board of the company presented the performance and prospects of Klaipedos Nafta to the prime minister and focused on the progress of the LNG terminal project and current organizational issues. The meeting was also attended by MPs, Klaipeda City Mayor Vytautas Grubliauskas, Director General of the Klaipeda State Seaport Authority Eugenijus Gentvilas.
