TRNC Representative: Celebrating independence of Northern Cyprus in Azerbaijan is a source of pride

“I congratulate the people of Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the country's exemplary hosting of COP29 international climate conference,” Ufuk Turganer, Representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Azerbaijan said at the event marking the 41st anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
She described the celebration of TRNC independence in fraternal and friendly Azerbaijan as a source of pride. She expressed her confidence that her country would further develop and strengthen with the support of Türkiye.
She emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev's statement, “Our family is the Turkic world; we have no other family,” serves as a roadmap for strengthening ties. According to her, the establishment of friendship groups between the two parliaments within this year is a convincing proof of the "roadmap" outlined by President Ilham Aliyev. She added that the two countries had held many meetings within the year aimed at developing collaboration in economy, trade, tourism and higher education.
