Japanese Rainbow town 79.2 FM radio airs program about Azerbaijani culture
Tokyo, August 1 (AZERTAC). Japanese Rainbow town 79.2 FM radio has aired a program about Azerbaijan`s culture.
A guest of the program, Azerbaijani pianist, laureate of international contests Gulnare Safarova, who is living in Tokyo, responded to questions of presenters and listeners concerning ancient and rich culture of the Azerbaijani people.
Presenters Soishi Ichi, Saki Noda and Karena raised awareness of listeners about Azerbaijan`s independence history, its geographical position, powerful economic potential, rich material-cultural heritage. They said national leader Heydar Aliyev, who returned to power in 1993, made invaluable efforts to restore independence and develop the country. The presenters hailed the national leader`s care to the culture and art of the country.
They also highlighted projects initiated by Azerbaijan`s first lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva, which contributed to promoting the country`s culture across the world.
Azerbaijan`s beautiful nature, ancient and rich culture of the people were also on focus of the program. The country`s traditional music, especially mugham roused huge interest among Japanese listeners.
Mrs Safarova said in 2003, UNESCO recognized Azerbaijan`s mugam as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. She said language and culture of minorities living in the country also enjoyed care and attention by the government.
Works of Azerbaijani composers, mughams and folklore music were played during the program.
