Azerbaijan attending International Book Fair in Germany
Baku, October 12 (AZERTAC). Officials of Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Director of National Library of Azerbaijan are participating in the 63rd international book fair in Frankfurt, Germany.
Azerbaijan`s 40sq m-pavilion is featuring presentation through special advertising printed materials on the country`s history, as well as culture, realities on Karabakh, and tourism potential.
The Azerbaijani panel displays 350 kinds of printing products with over 700 books, magazines, booklets.
As the world`s largest, even legendary book fair, Frankfurt is always exciting, innovative and very colourful. This year, once again, more than 7,000 international exhibitors, diverse new customer groups and more than 3,200 events will attend the fair. Among its many activities, the Frankfurt Academy is hosting four conferences to help international publishers find their way in the digital world, as well as the two-day event.
The Frankfurt Book Fair is the world`s largest trade fair for books, based on the number of publishing companies represented, as well as the number of visitors.
Representatives from book publishing and multimedia companies from all over the world come to the Frankfurt Book Fair in order to negotiate international publishing rights and licensing fees.
The Frankfurt Book Fair is a critical marketing event for the launching of books, but it is also an important event to facilitate the negotiation of the international sale of rights and licences. Visitors take the opportunity to obtain information about the publishing market, to network, and to do business. Publishers, agents, booksellers, librarians, academics, illustrators, service providers, film producers, translators, printers, professional and trade associations, institutions, artists, authors, antiquarians, software and multimedia suppliers all take part in the events and business climate of Frankfurt Book Fair. In 2009, there were 7,314 individual exhibitors from some 100 countries, presenting over 400,000 books. Some 300,000 visitors attended the fair.
The prize has been awarded each year since 1950.
