Azerbaijan Press Council and OSCE Baku Office submits draft law on defamation
Baku, May 6 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan Press Council and the OSCE Baku office have at last developed the Draft law on Defamation finalizing thus the long-term disputes.
The event brought together representatives of the both structures, i.e. media experts of country`s leading media and international media watchdogs.
Expressing satisfaction with cooperation with the OSCE Baku Office, Chairman of the Press Council Aflatun Amashov said the draft law consisting of five chapters and 16 clauses, has been worked out by the Press Council under legal expertise of the OSCE Baku Office.
Chief of the department of OSCE Baku office Jacqueline Karpenter praised the cooperation with the Council of Press. “We’d like to put this project for discussion to the public after submission to the parliament”, said Karpenter.
Attendees positively estimated the Draft, the long expected law for regulation of defamation disputes.
