Baku, March 24 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s mugham is one of the world`s musical masterpieces, said Liji Lian, a professor at the Chinese Xinjiang Uygur art academy.

Lian participated in the 2nd international mugham festival in Baku.

He called the festival “a brilliant opportunity to promote Azerbaijan`s mugham”.

Lian said he would benefit from experience of Azeri mugham masters.

The professor praised the fact Azerbaijan`s mugham was incorporated into the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

“The art of mugham is a tremendous contribution to the world culture,” Lian added.
