Baku hosts meeting of CIS Foundation for humanitarian cooperation
Baku, April 9 (AZERTAC). A meeting entitled “Traditions and prospects for intercultural dialogue in CIS countries: culture, education and communication” was held here in the format of the CIS Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation. The event was held as part of the world forum on intercultural dialogue.
Addressing the meeting, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev pointed out the CIS Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation contributed to development of intercultural dialogue.
Azeri ambassador to Russia, chairman of the Board of the Interstate Foundation Polad Bulbuloglu touched on the advantages of Baku`s hosting such a huge event.
According to him, remarks of President Ilham Aliyev and President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, ISESCO and UNESCO goodwill ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva increased importance of the event even more.
Honored artist of Azerbaijan, Sakit Mammadov was presented with a certificate of academician of the Russian Royal Academy of Arts.
Russian President`s special envoy for international cultural cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi pointed out there is the great need in intercultural dialogue. He thanked the government of Azerbaijan for organizing the forum very well.
Also speaking at the meeting were Kazakh poet Oljas Suleymenov, General Director of Turksoy Dusen Kaseyinov and others..
