Israeli FM: Azerbaijan is country of big strategic importance
Baku, November 1 (AZERTAC). Opening of the gas deposits in the Israel’s sector of the Mediterranean Sea contributes significantly to the deepening of relations between Israel and Azerbaijan, Head of the Department on Eurasia of Israel’s Foreign Ministry Oded Joseph told media in Baku.
He emphasized that the energy is a major component of the cooperation between Israel and Azerbaijan. “With the discovery of new energy resources in Israel, relations between the two countries have become even closer. Azerbaijan is a country with a long experience in the production of energy resources. Israel will study the Azerbaijan’s experience in this direction,” he said.
Stressing that there is a great potential for the activity of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, Oded Joseph also said that the Israeli side is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the areas related to medical equipment, information technology and agriculture.
Analyst of the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s Research Center Elena Margovski also stressed that Israel sees Azerbaijan as an important country in the former Soviet space. Due to its geographical location and rich deposits of energy resources, Azerbaijan is a country of the big strategic importance in the Eurasian region. Israel is closely cooperating with Azerbaijan in the international arena.
