Japanese radio airs program on Azerbaijan
Baku, May 6 (AZERTAC). Japanese radio “Rainbow Town Fm Tokyo” has aired a special program about Azerbaijan.
The program`s guests were Azerbaijani ambassador Gursel Ismayilzade, embassy`s first secretary Narmina Aslanova, consul Rovshan Mirzayev and AZERTAC`s special correspondent in Tokyo Vugar Agayev.
The program`s speakers Soisi Ilki and Naomi Oki gave information about Azerbaijan, its geographic location and economic potential, saying the country gained its independence 21 years ago and reached the progress in all fields of economy.
The speakers praised national leader Heydar Aliyev`s role in development of Azerbaijan. “The great leader`s 90th jubilee is marked not only in Azerbaijan, but also in many countries across the globe,” they said.
The Azerbaijani guests said that strategic development course determined by the national leader is successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. They said the country saw effective reforms in all fields thanks to this political course.
The guests praised the current state of existing bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Japan.
They also touched upon Azerbaijan-Japan cooperation under the GUAM+Japan project.
The speakers hailed activities of Japanese companies in Azerbaijan, particularly participation of Itochu in the “Contract of the Century”, as an impulse to the energy cooperation between the two countries.
The guests raised the awareness of the Japanese audience about Azerbaijan`s tourism potential, must-see places, and rich cuisine. They said the number of Japanese tourists traveling to Azerbaijan had grown in last years.
The guests praised the role of the Japanese embassy to Azerbaijan in bolstering the bilateral cooperation in a variety of fields, particularly in education, culture and tourism.
Azerbaijan-initiated regional and international projects were also in focus of the program.
The speakers stressed Azerbaijan`s plans to construct the tallest TV tower in near future.
Concerning the freedom of press, they said “the government of Azerbaijan pays special care and attention to freedom of speech and media. More than 600 mass media bodies have been officially registered in Azerbaijan”.
The guests particularly provided an insight into activities of the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AZERTAC). They said: “Founded in 1920, the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency is a major news and information agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the only source of the official government news. AZERTAC has already become respected international news agency, it enjoys close cooperation with the world`s influential agencies, including Japanese Kyodo News. The agency`s Tokyo office has been operating since 2011.”
