Expert: Middle Corridor strengthens Azerbaijan's importance as a strategic transport hub for Eurasia
Baku, May 15, AZERTAC
The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) has become one of the most sought-after logistics projects in Eurasia in recent years, amid the changing geopolitical situation and the transformation of global supply chains, said Gaidar Abdikerimov, international expert on logistics and transport route development, in the latest episode of the "Azerbaijan and the World" program broadcast on the AZERTAC website.
According to him, the strategic commitment made by the Middle Corridor participating countries more than ten years ago has fully paid off. He noted that rising tensions in the Middle East, changes in global logistics, and increased trade turnover between Asia and Europe have significantly increased the route's popularity.
The expert emphasized that the Middle Corridor is now seen as an important alternative to traditional transport routes, and its importance continues to grow alongside the changing global geoeconomic architecture. He assessed that the countries of the region have managed to promptly prepare for new challenges and create the infrastructure foundation for the sustainable development of transit transport.
